How waste aware are you?
The University's waste management partner, Veolia, will be on campus on 9 and 10 March raising awareness of waste and recycling, to help us be greener and keep our campus cleaner.
In 2022 the University of Wolverhampton recycled 30% (180 tonnes) of all waste generated across the university and we want to increase this figure during 2023.
9 and 10 March 2023 is Waste Awareness Week, where our partner, Veolia, will be attending Wolverhampton, Walsall and Telford Campuses to raise awareness and discuss waste and recycling with students and staff.
One of the big challenges we face is ensuring we are collecting the correct materials in our Mixed Recycling bins.
All internal and external bins are labelled with the correct specification of:
- tins/cans
- plastic bottles
- paper
- cardboard
We need your help in making sure contamination is kept to a minimum by only putting the above materials into the Mixed Recycling bins. Test your knowledge by visiting the Veolia stand and take part in our quiz for a chance to win a prize.
Please come and visit our stand at the following locations:
- Telford Campus - Thursday 9 March, 10.00 am -11.30 am, The Angad Paul Building (SA)
- Walsall Campus - Thursday 9 March, 12.30 am - 14.30 pm, The Jerome K Jerome Building (WA) Refectory
- City Campus - Friday 10 March, 11 am - 2.00 pm, Millennium City Building, (MC) Foyer
For those who are unable to attend on the dates, the quiz can also be accessed online and via the QR code:
