Drop-in service:

If you’d like to see someone in person about your academic skills, the first place to go is our drop-in service. This is held at Harrison, Walsall and Telford libraries. There’s no need to book – just come along at the following times:

City (Harrison Library)

Monday - Friday, 11am – 2pm

Walsall Library

Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, 11am – 2pm

Telford (Hutchison Library)

Wednesday, 11am-2pm

If you can't attend one of our drop-in sessions, please contact us to discuss our availability for an appointment at a different time. To access our other support, including online workshops, head to library.extrawheelusa.com/skills

Have some feedback on our service? You can let us know your thoughts here: http://uow-survey.onlinesurveys.ac.uk/skills-for-learning-support-feedback

Useful info:

Do you have a particular learning need? Before booking an appointment with us, we’d recommend you look over the Communication Services page. If you require a BSL interpreter, manual note-taker or other communication support service, please organise this prior to confirming an appointment time.

Is English not your first language? You can also book appointments with an Academic English tutor. Enrol in Academic English Language Skills canvas course http://canvas.extrawheelusa.com/enroll/6AHT8E (it’s free!) to access a variety of online resources and sign up for an online 1to1English tutorial.

Please note that the Skills for Learning team cannot proofread work and cannot offer subject-specific advice. For further information about our support, please download our Skills for Learning Support Guidelines 2021.

Finally, if you and other students are looking for an appointment together we can arrange this. Just contact us with a list of the student names and numbers, and we’ll arrange for a group session.
